KERALA

The name Kerala is generally explained as the "the land of coconuts", developed from Malayalam word "kera" which means coconut. but, pre historic changes of Emperor Ashoka period dating back to 273-236 BC had etymological situation of Kerala putra, meaning the land of Cheras (of Chera family) sons.

The current State of Kerala, a 560-km long thin extend of land, having not more than 15,000 square miles and at its widest a mere 120-km from the ocean, was created on the 1st of November 1956, with the political inclusion of three previous separate areas; the North Malabar region, as distant up the coast covering Tellicherry, Cannanore and Kasargode and excluding the tiny pocket of French control, Mahe , the princely State of Cochin forming the middle section and the third region included Travancore, one more large State, covering the southern part.  

DISTRICT OF KERALA

Kerala has 14 districts. Based on geographical, historical and cultural similarities, the districts are generally grouped into three groups:

North: Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikkod and Malappuram

Central: Palakkad, Thrissur, Eranakulam and Idukki

South: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Kottayam

The state's architectural wealth is alive in its nalukettu- the traditional kerala house and other temple structures. These buildings stand for the art of wooden construction at its great. Today very few new structures respect the civilizations of Kerala architecture.

AYURVEDA

Kerala's composed climate, natural plenty of medicinal resources, and the cool monsoon makes it the best place for medicinal and restorative packages using Ayurveda, a system of medicine developed around 600 BC in India . Kerala is the only state in India , which practices this system of medicine with complete dedication.
